PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Dear Smoky Hill Families,

For the 3rd consecutive year Smoky Hill High School is hosting the Thanksgiving Basket Project to provide food to families in our community.  This project is made possible with support from staff, students, parents and the business community.  We encourage you to participate in this charitable program.

Several Smoky Hill seniors were recently recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.  The National Merit Scholarship Program selected Katherine Azarkh, Justin Kim and Eric Paricio as National Semifinalists.  Seven seniors – Spencer Bradshaw, Elisabeth Bristol, Amy Lee, Ashley Perrine, Dylan Powers, Mehraud Razzaghi and Ish Shah were recognized as National Merit Commended students.

Seniors  Kelly Rebollo and Eric Paricio were recognized as National Hispanic Scholars.

Junior Lucia Chung received the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence.  Congratulations to these students on their academic success.

As a reminder, due to the District calendar change, first semester will end on December 18, prior to winter break.  Students should be prepared for final exams on December 15, 16 and 17.

I sincerely hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.
