COUNSELING CORNER

Welcome Back!  The counseling department looks forward to another great year working with all Smoky Hill Students.

The counseling department encourages all students to get involved with school.  One of the key factors of having a successful high school experience, achieving balance, and planning for your future is getting involved in clubs, organizations, athletics, and your community.  Take advantage of the opportuniies coming your way.  Make a difference.

FRESHMEN:  Counselors will be coming to your Freshman Seminar class to introduce themselves, talk about counseling services in high school and get you registered on Naviance, our web based program for completing your ICAP—Individual Career and Academic Plan.

SOPHOMORES:  If you have not met your counselor this year, now is the time to make an appointment to check in on academic progress and 10th grade ICAP tasks on Naviance.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS:  Save the date, Sunday, October 11, 2015.  The NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counseling) College Fair is coming to Denver.  It will be held at the Denver Merchandise Mart located at I-25 and 58th Avenue from 1—4 p.m.  Over 250 colleges and universities from all over the county will be meeting with students from the Denver Metro area.  Workshops on admission processes and financial aid will also be offered.  Bus Transportation will be provided from locations in the Denver area.  See your counselor if you need further information on transportation and to register for the fair.  Don't miss out on this exciting and informative opportunity.
