DECA's annual Homecoming event, Extreme Fest, was a huge success! On Wednesday, October 15, 32 clubs came out and set up booths in the bus lanes. Booths included: henna tattoos by the Indian Dance Club, delicious root beer floats sponsored by Student Government, and the infamous dunk tank hosted by the Ambassadors! A big thanks to all the clubs who made this event possible. Over 500 people attended the event to show their support for their favorite club and hang out with their friends. Another thank you to Scott Cohen and Council of Clubs for helping host this successful event. We look forward to DECA and Council of Clubs carrying on this tradition in years to come!
Our annual Smoky Hill DECA Chapter Conference was on Saturday, October 8, and was a huge success.  Each marketing student competed in two role plays in one of three areas, which included marketing management, business management, and retail.  All of the competitors did an outstanding job!  The top qualifiers in each section were James Ballins, Joseph Cleveland, Zach Fertman, Bailey Neel, Shadi Malaaki, Dan Kasberg, Hannah Kim, Joey Tuggle, and Thomas Snowden.  We are proud to be sending 140 DECA members to the District competition that was held on Friday, November 18, at Johnson and Wales University to compete against students from Cherry Creek High School, Cherokee Trail High School, and Eaglecrest High School.
DECA's 7th annual Dodgeball tournament was held on Wednesday, November 9. All proceeds went toward the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family project.
