School of Choice

The Cherry Creek School District allows its resident students to apply for enrollment in the Cherry Creek school/program of their choice.  In other words, you may request that your child attend a Cherry Creek school outside your assigned attendance area.  The School of Choice application process beginning with the 2013-14 school year will be an electronic application that you will be able to access online from January 1st - February 1st from any computer, at any time.  Please note that there will be NO PAPER FORMS available for the School of Choice application process. Please check the district website School of Choice.

There is a limit of one (1) application per student and all information is verified for accuracy. Applications are considered on a space available basis with priority given to families with siblings at the school and to the children of employees of the district.  Parents will be notified of the decision by March 15th and any appeals must be submitted in writing to District Admissions by April 15th.

Students currently attending a school under School of Choice or an IntraDistrict Transfer approved to the highest grade level do not need to submit an application to return to that school next year.   Non-Resident applications will be available online starting April 1, 2013.

2013-2014 Pre-Registration Information
The Pre-Registration process for the 2013-2014 school year will begin in January 2013. At that time, students will receive materials to assist with course selections for next year. Please take the time to look through the pre-registration materials with your student to make informed decisions about his/her schedule for next year.  The school’s master schedule is created from the pre-registration choices of our students, so your attention to the process is important and appreciated.  More detailed information will be sent home at the end of first semester in January.

The Cherry Creek School District will offer drivers education classes during the school year.  The schedule of classes and registration information will be available on the following website:

Congratulations to junior, Lindsey Paricio, who was awarded VOC's (Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado) Youth Volunteer of the Year Award! Lindsey is a member of the VOC's award-winning Cairn Youth Program. As described on VOC's website, this program "guides and challenges young people to become caretakers of Colorado’s extraordinary natural resources. Each academic year, approximately 35 high school students from Denver-area high schools meet monthly with mentors and special guests to explore environmental topics, address community needs, and participate in adventurous outdoor challenges. The 9-month program culminates in a community-wide volunteer project developed and led by Cairn participants!"  Lindsey is a project leader working on an Outdoor Nation grant the Cairn group earned to promote outdoor activity for Millennials.

Please remember that cell phones, iPods, and other mobile devices are not to be used in the academic areas during class time.  If you need to take or make a call while in the library please take your call in the hallways during a passing period or in the activity’s area.  These items are permissible to use during passing periods in the academic hallways, and are always allowed in the activity’s area.  Thank you for respecting the academic areas and academic times by using your mobile devices in the appropriate areas and times.
