The DECA State Conference took place at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs from February 26th-February 28th. Smoky Hill’s DECA chapter took 50 business students to compete at the state level against over 3,000 opponents from high schools and colleges throughout the state. We are proud to announce that of the 50 competitors representing Smoky Hill DECA: Jenna Kamlet, Danielle Staverosky, Lexi Heiden, David Twerskoi, Megan Rivard, Kais Zeiadah, Shadi Maaliki, and Dan Kasberg all received honorable mentions in their competition categories. In addition, Sarah Jennings, Julie Woodworth, and Joey Cleveland made it to the final round of their competition areas. We are very proud of Julie and Joey for qualifying for the International DECA competition in Salt Lake City this spring. We wish Julie and Joey the best of luck at ICDC in April and would like to say congratulations to all of our state qualifiers for doing a fantastic job in their competitions!
