Yo Craze Frozen Yogurt Night
Come support SHHS @ Yo Craze Frozen Yogurt Night, which will be held on October 6th from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m.  Please mention that you are with Smoky Hill, and a portion of the receipts will benefit our  school.  Yo Craze is located at 18801 E. Hampden Ave, Suite 174, Aurora (NE Corner of Hampden and Tower).

Check out our new Facebook Page!  Find us under "Smoky Hill High School PTCO" and join the group.  The old page will be archived by facebook soon, so join the new one to keep up-to-date on current events.  Our spirit wear Facebook page “Smoky Hill High School PTCO Spirit Wear” will stay the same.

PTCO Meetings
Want a great way to get involved? Attend a PTCO Meeting!  General Meetings will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the upper cafeteria on Sept.14, 2011  and  February 8, 2012.

Rubio's Outstanding Commited Student/Staff Award
SHHS PTCO and Rubio's has partnered to create the "Rubio Outstanding Commited Student/Staff" (ROCS)  Award.  We will pick a student and staff member monthly to receive the award.  They will receive a free meal from Rubio's.
September's staff member of the month is Judy Johnson for her outstanding organization during August registration.
September's students of the month are Student Ambassadors Lexi Heiden and Kaitlyn Storm for their leadership.

The PTCO has fundraising efforts that continue throughout the school year. 
Opportunities include:
  • Office Depot : Mention Smoky Hill High School at the time of purchase, and Office Depot will donate a percentage of the sales to our school.
  • Target Cards: Use your Target Visa or Target Card.  Target will donate a percentage of each purchase to our school in cash through the “Take Charge of Education Program”.  Visit or call 800.316.6142 to designate Smoky Hill to receive funds.  Remember to use Smoky Hill's ID number, 1037196.
  • Ink Cartridges: If you are interested in recycling old ink cartridges, you may drop them off in the "Drop Box" in the main office.  SHHS PTCO will receive a donation for each one.
  • Donations: If you made a donation at registration, thank you.  If you haven't made a donation and would like to, you may drop one off in the main office or mail to SHHS PTCO, 16100 E Smoky Hill Road, Aurora CO 80015.  Corporate donations are accepted as well.  All donations are tax deductable.  If you would like a receipt, please contact Lisa Klatsky, PTCO Treasurer at  or 303.877.8852. 

Volunteers Needed!!
PTCO is looking for volunteers for the following events:                                            
  • SHHS Craft Fair, Saturday, November 5, 2011.  
  • Thanksgiving Share Project-Basket Stuffing on Friday, November 18, 2011 and Monday, November 21, 2011.
  • We are looking for donations (supplies for sandwiches and burritos, water, soda, baked goods, etc.) for the upcoming Fall Craft Fair held on November 5th.  The food will be sold to vendors.  All proceeds go back to the school.             
We are also looking for anyone who is interested in becoming more involved with the PTCO.  The following positions are open for the 2011-2012 school year.  Contact Lori Burns at for information.                    
  • Co-President (Someone who may be willing to train this year and take over for the 2012-2013 school year.)
  • Ways and Means Coordinator (Primary contact for Craft Fairs.)          

 Spirit Wear
Spirit wear will be sold throughout the year at school events.  More information can be found on our Facebook Page "Smoky Hill High School PTCO Spirit Wear" and the PTCO website.

SHHS Directory
The PTCO publishes the SHHS directory.  This is essential for every family!  The directory provides school contact information, important dates, and essential facts about Smoky Hill.  If you have paid for the directory (i.e. at registration), we will e-mail you when the directories are ready for pick-up.  You may also pick- up directories at Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, October 20th.  If you wish to purchase a directory for $5, contact the PTCO @ or 720.886.5390.
