IB Exam Registration
IB Exam registration is just around the corner.   Do you know the qualifications for the awarding of an IB diploma?  Do you understand the significance of selecting the best HL and SL testing combination?  Are you aware how colleges and universities are using IB scores for placement and/or for credit?  Did you know that there is a substantial fee increase if your child misses the registration deadline or registers for the wrong examination?

IB Diploma Coordinator, Patricia Wetmore, and the IB Counselors will present, “IB Exam Registration—Do’s and Don’ts.” at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 2nd, in the Smoky Hill Auditorium.  A make up meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd, in the auditorium.  All IB seniors and IB juniors who are testing in the May 2013 examination session are required to attend before they can register.  (A parent or guardian must be present.)

Junior Induction Ceremony
On Friday, November 9th, the Smoky Hill IB World School will officially welcome into the IB Diploma program, 93 juniors of the Class of 2014!  The ceremony will take place in the auditorium at 8:30 a.m.  All MYP and Diploma level students are required to attend.  The juniors will be awarded their IB pins and all four classes will have their class photos taken by our official photographer, Jack Eberhard.  Parents of juniors are welcome to attend.

Smoky Hill IB Parent Association (SHIBPA)
Are you the parent of an MYP or Diploma IB student?  Do you want to learn more about how to support your child’s IB journey?   Join other IB parents at our monthly SHIBPA meeting the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Room I-13.  Meetings begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. and last one hour.   Each meeting has a different agenda item based on what YOU want to learn about the International Baccalaureate.
