Academic/Activity Letter
Application
Available in the Activities Office
Students interested in earning an academic/activity letter must accumulate a total of ten points evenly distributed in two categories – academics and activities.
The primary goal of this letter is to reward a student for academic/activity success in a manner similar to the letter award of a varsity athlete. The award should represent a significant contribution to the school, and students will only be given points for true participation. To be awarded points for academics and activities, a student must be an active participant.
Any student interested in pursuing this letter should come to the Activities office to pick up an application. Applications are due by Friday, May 1, 2015.

WHY YOU SHOULD PAY YOUR
ACTIVITY FEE
Why should you pay your Activity Fee? That is a good question because most parents and students don't really know where that $30 goes. The money is divided among Athletics, Activities, and PTCO. Some of the benefits of the Activity Fee are:
- All regular season Home Athletic Events are FREE with a paid Activity Fee.
- World Awareness Week is funded completely by the Activity Fee.
- Homecoming, Winter Dance, Prom, and After Prom are supported by the Activity Fee. Prices are discounted for each event with a paid Activity Fee.
The following list shows how the part earmarked for Activities is spent. In some cases the money is the sole form of funding for a particular activity. In other cases it is a supplement that reduces the cost of a product or event for students. The following activities are funded by the Activity Fee:
Ambassadors of SHHS | English Honor Society | Latino Leadership Group | ProStart |
Amnesty International | Environmental Club | Le Club Francais | SADD |
Animal Rescue | FBLA | LINK | Science Bowl |
Anime Club | FCCLA | Marching Band | Sisterhood |
Brotherhood | Greenhouse Club | Math Club | SkillsUSA (Auto) |
Chamber Orchestra | Harry Potter Club | Mock Trial | Spanish Club |
Clay Club | Hip Hop Dance Club | Model UN | Speech & Debate |
Dance Showcase | Improv | Muslim Student Assoc. | Step Team |
DECA | Japanese Club | National Honor Society | Student Government |
Destination Imagination | Jazz Band | Newspaper | Symphonic Choir |
Digital Evolutions | Key Club | Poetry Club | World Affairs Yearbook |
Drama Club | Latin Club | ProStart | |
You should pay your Activity Fee because it supports the activities listed above and because the activities listed impact YOU and YOUR STUDENT!
Activity Fees can be paid in the Bookkeeping Office.
A new ID will be issued with a receipt from Bookkeeping in the Security Office.
