Orchestra News

Congratulations to our three string players who were accepted into the 2012 Western States Honor Orchestra at the University of Northern Colorado!  Sara Patterson (cello-Class of 2013), Melody Su (violin-Class of 2013) and Alison Su (violin-Class of 2016) will travel to the UNC campus in early November to rehearse and perform with some of the top 100 string players in our state.  They will have the privilege of working with two experienced clinicians, Roger Chase and Gerardo F. Edelstein, as well as other local university music professors.  Maestro Chase, an incredible violist who has performed throughout the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, the Middle East, India, Europe and Scandanavia, currently teaches at the Chicago College of Performing Arts and Roosevelt University in Chicago and will perform with the 2012 WSHOF Chamber Orchestra.  A native of Argentina, Maestro Edelstein has conducted orchestras in Europe, South America, Asia, and the U.S.  He currently serves as the director of orchestral studies at Pennsylvania State University and will conduct the performance of the 2012 WSHOF Symphony Orchestra.  Please help me to congratulate these talented Smoky Hill string players who will represent our school this month!
