COLORADO IMMUNIZATION UPDATE
Starting July 1, 2015, the State of Colorado requires all students to have 2 Varicella vaccinations (chickenpox). Colorado has previously only required one Varicella vaccine. Children who have had the chickenpox are not required to have the vaccines. Parents should provide the vaccination records or the dates when the child had the chickenpox in order to meet the requirement.
Next time your child has a doctor's appointment, please review your child's vaccination records with the doctor to ensure they are up to date for all Colorado immunization requirements.

Parent Tips for Accurate Attendance
To excuse an absence
- Call the attendance voicemail line as soon as possible to report an absence: 720-886-5450
- Keep the message short; speak clearly
- State the reason for the absence
- Clearly state the date of the absence and the specific times of the absence
- Spell the last name. Speak slowly and clearly
For early dismissals
- Send the student to the attendance office first thing in the morning with a note stating the time and reason for the early dismissal. The attendance clerk will provide an early dismissal pass, which is required to leave class early.
Why do I get an automated call that my student missed class even though my student was in class and/or I called in to excuse the absence?
- It can take several hours to record all of the calls off of the voicemail line. It is possible that the absence just didn't get recorded in time.
- Teachers occasionally mark attendance incorrectly or forget to change an unexcused absence to a tardy when a student arrives late.
If you have a question about why you are getting an automated call, please call the dean directly. Thank you!
