  • Keep track of all acceptances, rejections, and waitlists.
  • If waitlisted, move ahead with other plans. You can always change your plans if you get off a waitlist.
  • Keep your grades up.
  • If you have ruled out any colleges that accepted you, notify them. This is a courtesy to other applicants, and it will help the colleges manage their waitlists and extend the correct number of acceptance letters.
  • Go to accepted student open houses if offered.
  • Choose the college you wish to attend and let Post Grad know!
  • Continue working on scholarships.  Scholarship information is available on Naviance.  Please keep a list of all scholarships offered to you.

As you receive decisions from colleges, please share your news with us!  When you have made your college decision don't forget to sign the senior window in Post Grad.

College Friday

Seniors, on April 17th,  the Post Grad Center will be celebrating College Friday by continuing the Smoky Hill tradition of signing the window in Post Grad.

Wear your college gear and "PUT YOUR CLASS ON THE GLASS."

If you have not scheduled your junior conference with your counselor, please do so as soon as possible.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  Counselors meet with juniors to do a graduation credit check, prepare for senior year in high school, and to discuss post high school planning.

The State ACT test will be administered on Tuesday, April 28th, 2015.  Now is the perfect time to begin preparing.

This new and improved online test preparation for the ACT and SAT is available on Naviance for sophomores, juniors and seniors.  It provides an easy and efficient way to do a full test prep curriculum or to target specific areas that students may need to work on.  For example, many students struggle with the pace of the Reading section of the ACT and score lower on this section than others.  If that is the case, a student may want to practice specific reading questions, and read up on this site that will help a student better pace themselves.  Find the link on your student's Naviance page.
