Senior Assassin Game Banned
Dear Smoky Hill Community,
As we approach the end of the first semester, excitement is already building among our students for the upcoming holiday season. It’s a special time filled with joy, relaxation, and a sense of closure.
However, I would like to take a moment to address a growing concern that has surfaced in our community and others nearby: the “Senior Assassin” game. This activity has become increasingly popular among high school seniors across the country, including Smoky Hill High School.
The game typically involves students attempting to “eliminate” one another using facsimile guns or similar items. While it may seem like harmless fun to some, the nature of the game often leads to behavior that can raise serious safety, legal, and policy concerns. In some instances across the metro area and nation, these games have resulted in police involvement due to reports of suspicious or unsafe activity, trespassing on private property, and reckless driving as students attempt to "assassinate" or evade one another.
I want to be clear: Senior Assassin is not permitted on the Smoky Hill campus or any Cherry Creek School District property. Neither our school nor our district condones, sponsors, or organizes this game in any way, whether on or off campus. Any student involvement that disrupts the learning environment, creates safety concerns, or violates district policy (including Board Policy JICI-III related to firearm facsimiles) will result in disciplinary action.
Additionally, families should be aware that the Smoky Hill High School is not responsible for any money collected or distributed as part of the game and assumes no liability for any related financial transactions or disputes.
Parents, I encourage you to have a conversation with your student about this game and the potential risks involved. I also urge our students to make safe, thoughtful choices that reflect the respect, responsibility, and pride that define Smoky Hill High School.
As always, our focus remains on maintaining a safe and supportive environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us uphold the values that make our Buffalo community so strong.

National School Psychologists Week
During the week of November 3-7, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and schools across the United States will celebrate the 2025 National School Psychology Week (NSPW). This week celebrates the contributions of school psychologists and the important role they play in schools and communities. This year's theme, "Finding Your Path," reflects the ways that school psychologists help students, families, and school communities set and achieve their goals. Request for Thanksgiving Support
Smoky Hill High School will again be working to support our families during the Thanksgiving holiday. Our goal is to provide $50 gift cards for all Smoky Hill High School families from whom we receive an on-time request. If your family would benefit from support during the Thanksgiving holiday, please complete the form below. One gift card per Smoky Hill household. directed by Katie Cunningham. Both shows performed in the
Smoky Hill Auditorium and start at 7:15 pm. Tickets will be on
sale during lunches the week of the show and at the door.

Before wowing fans on "Saturday Night Live" and "Wicked," Bowen Yang was lighting up the stage at Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colorado. Yang credits much of his success to his improv teacher at the time, Mr. Adrian Holguin, who says, "I love the fact that he is authentically living in celebration of his life and who he is." Watch Mr. Holguin surprise him live on TODAY. "This is the best day of my life!," Yang says.

Finishing high school and applying to college isn't an easy process, but some high schoolers in the Cherry Creek School District are working to make it easier.
