Career & Tech Ed (CTE)
As part of their CTE coursework, students will focus on the following Enduring Understandings:

Using various types of reasoning as appropriate to the situation.

Utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Analyzing and evaluating evidence, arguments, claims, and beliefs.

Applying and synthesizing technical skills in authentic situations and extending skills to content areas and corresponding problems.

Applying technical vocabulary to demonstrate comprehension of industry skills.

Analyzing career paths within each pathway.

Effectively communicating, collaborating, and managing time to meet industry expectations.
CTE Courses Available at SHHS
Courses can be taken in a variety of sequencing allowing students to concentrate in a specific content or explore multiple pathways. Courses listed with a CE
(Concurrent Enrollment) or DE (Dual Enrollment) provide students an opportunity to earn college credit, at the same time as earning high school credit. Industry
certifications are also available in numerous pathways. Courses listed with a (WBL) have embedded Work-based Learning opportunities where students are Learning Through Work or Learning At Work.

CTE Courses Available at the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus
In addition to courses offered at the home high school, students may also apply to take courses at the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus (CCIC). Some CCIC
Pathways are an extension to CTE Pathways already offered at the home high school. Students can enroll in CCIC Pathways beginning in their 10th grade year.
Courses listed with a CE (Concurrent Enrollment) or DE (Dual Enrollment) provide students an opportunity to earn college credit. Industry certifications are also
