Thank you for considering the IB Middle Years Program at Smoky Hill High School in the Cherry Creek School District! We review applications in the order in which we receive your submission of this application AND the applicant's first semester of 8th grade official grade report.

Here is our application Review and Notification of decision breakdown!

• First Round - December 17th.
• Second Round  - January 14th
• Third Round - February 18th
• Fourth Round - March 25th.
• Weekly Rolling Review and Notification: through the end of 4th quarter.

Incoming Freshmen interested in the IB Program MUST:

1. Complete this application.
2. Email an official current grade report of your 8th grade grades WITHIN 3 DAYS of completing this form (screenshots showing courses, grades, and students name is fine) to the IB Office at SHHSIB@cherrycreekschools.org

IB notification/decision will be sent via email on a weekly basis to students who reside in the Smoky Hill High School feeder area and those who are accepted for School of Choice (School of Choice students must complete the School of Choice application on the Cherry Creek School District site - Make sure to choose Smoky Hill as your first choice for schools). SCHOOL OF CHOICE OPENS DECEMBER 1ST.

Grades

How to Get The Official Report:

1. You may log onto PowerSchool and check your grades. Make sure you are looking at your 1st semester of 8th grade grades. 
2. Press "ctrl+P" to print the page, but change the printer option to "Save as PDF" or "Print to PDF". Instead of printing, the document will be saved as a PDF. Click print/save to do this. 
3. If this does not work for you, you may send an image/jpeg/screenshot of your grade report (we need to be able to see names of courses, grades, and students name). Or, you can contact your school's Records department and ask them to provide you a copy of your 8th grade grade report.

Feeders/School of Choice:

• Students currently in SHHS feeder schools will be notified of their status by email based upon the notification dates once we have received their completed application and grade report.

• Students requesting School of Choice will be notified of their status by email after Cherry Creek School District has notified us of your approval for School of Choice.

IMPORTANT DISTRICT ADMISSIONS DATES AND INFORMATION:

• The School of Choice application will open on December 1 for the 2026-2027 school year.

• Applications are considered based on lottery and space availability. Priority is given to students with siblings who will be attending the same school and children of district employees. There is a limit of one application per student, and all information is verified for accuracy. Addresses must be up to date for residents of the school district in order to be considered for School Choice.  If you are moving at a later date, applications for School Choice can be submitted when you move.  

• The Cherry Creek School District gives district residents and non-residents the opportunity to apply for enrollment in a Cherry Creek school of their choice. Applications can be submitted from December 1st through January 31st of the current school year for a School Choice placement to start in the next school year. The first lottery that will run on February 27th. Applications submitted February 1st through the May 31st deadline will be added to the waitlist, unless the school has available seats for the requested grade level.

If applicable, your CCSD Admissions School of Choice application and/or District Enrollment forms MUST be completed in addition to this SHHS IB MYP application. All admissions applications can be found on the CCSD Admissions website.

*Please note, if you are in the Cherry Creek School District BUT you do not currently reside in the SHHS feeder area or you live outside the Cherry Creek School District, you MUST complete a "School of Choice" online form which opens December 1st.

*Please note, if you live in the Cherry Creek School District but currently attend a Middle School outside of the District, you MUST enroll your student in the Cherry Creek School District starting March 1st.
